  • The Telegram game Hamster Kombat has unexpectedly boosted massage gun sales in Russia.
  • With over 200 million players, Hamster Kombat’s popularity is soaring.

Hamster Kombat, a wildly popular clicker game on Telegram, has taken the world by storm, not just for its addictive gameplay but for its unforeseen impact on a completely different industry – massage guns.

Massage Guns: The Unexpected Accessory for Hamster Kombat

The seemingly harmless act of tapping your phone screen to earn coins in Hamster Kombat has led to an unexpected consequence – a surge in massage gun sales in Russia.

Apparently, some players are using these percussive therapy devices to “pump up” their tapping speed. This strategy seems to be working, with Wildberries, a major Russian e-commerce platform, reporting a 179% increase in massage gun sales in June compared to May.

Social media has further fueled this trend, with viral videos showcasing Russian players using massage guns to dominate the leaderboards. Retailers have been quick to capitalize on this craze, advertising their massage guns as the perfect tool for “quickly pumping” on Hamster Kombat.

While Wildberries and Ozon, two of Russia’s biggest e-commerce platforms, have seen significant increases in massage gun sales, Yandex Market, the third major player, hasn’t reported a similar surge. This suggests the trend might be more localized or fueled by the viral videos.

Millions Flock to the Hamster Kombat Wheel

Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, announced that the game Hamster Kombat has gained a staggering number of 200 million players since its launch in March 2024. The game quickly reached 100 million monthly users in just 73 days and continues to grow rapidly.

Additionally, the game’s developers are preparing for a token airdrop to introduce blockchain benefits to a wide audience. This news comes at a time when Tether’s stablecoin, USDT, has surpassed 500 million in net circulation on The Open Network (TON), alongside the growth of the TON blockchain and its native cryptocurrency, Toncoin.

Hamster Kombat Replied Wu Blockchain

On July 8, Wu Blockchain posted a list of the top twenty projects that may issue tokens in the second half of the year. Hamster Kombat was listed in the last position. In response, the official X account of Hamster Kombat sarcastically replied, “I think you meant to put Hamster Kombat first, as there are currently over 250 million hamsters playing our game.”

After the post’s comment section was flooded with comments, a user named Viktor wrote, “I can’t believe it. They also didn’t include Catizen, Blum, or PixelVerse. Who made this list?” Another user named Crypto with Khan replied, “They’ve put the projects according to their funding. Please announce the funding, then they’ll write without your reminder.”

Beyond the Massage Gun Craze

The rise of Hamster Kombat highlights the potential for mobile games to bridge the gap between entertainment and real-world trends. It’s a fascinating example of how a virtual world can have unexpected effects on the physical one. Whether the massage gun trend has legs or not remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure – Hamster Kombat has taken the internet by storm, leaving a trail of clicks and sore fingers in its wake.
